I started this newsletter to share what I’ve been thinking and working on as birthwork took on new shapes for me through the pandemic. And in doing so, I hoped to reach a broader audience, discover new opportunities, and drum up more business.
Well, it worked! I now have several long term projects (including writing a book! More on that below). For the first time in my career as an entrepreneur, I’m saying no to jobs. My plate is full and I am grateful.
So, Birth/Werk is on hiatus. I won’t be writing this newsletter weekly for now. Instead, one of my projects is writing a book that captures what I’ve learned as a doula through the years. My intention is to create a book that will be beautiful to hold, inspiring to read, and will provide new ideas to doulas who are starting out or refreshing their businesses.
I’m aiming to self publish next fall. You’ll be the first to know when the book is done because there will be virtual partying!
In the meantime, my work developing curriculum for Soshe, teaching pregnancy loss support skills to reproductive care professionals, and serving on the board of directors of Lamaze International continues.
I’m excited for this new chapter.
Thank you for all of your support!
xx, Naima
I feel so lucky to work with you and I'm so excited for your book! Yay!!!
Good Luck! Writing has been my great hobby these past 20 years! I look forward to reading your thoughts...
Cheers!
